Asian Oil Painting
I would like to know more about an oil painting I was given recently. I do not know where else to start my enquiries - the oil painting is on canvas (unframed, about A3 in size). I have attached two photos for your consideration. Can anyone help me with any information please, eg is it Japanese or Chinese, and can you make out the signature. I want to research it further but do not have a starting point. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
