Default Henri Dubois

Hello everyone! I'm looking for any info. on my great, great Grandfather's artwork. His name was Henri Dubois. He was an artist using all sorts of medium including oil, charcoal and I understand he was great at bronze work as my Grandmother use to have a set of candleabras that he had made. I'm enclosing an image that I have (original) of a charcoal drawing of the late actress Sarah Bernhardt dated H. Dubois 1881, along with his signature. ANY info. or input would be so appreciated!

ABOUT THE ARTIST Henri DUBOIS (1859-1930), French sculptor and medallist, pupil of Chapus, Falguière and of his father Alphée Dubois. He obtained the Second Grand Prix de Rome de gravure en médailles in 1878 (won that year by Louis Bottée). Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1903.In the Magazine of Art in 1900, Mr E.F. Strange writes about H.Dubois (excerpt) : « The work of Dubois belongs to the more cultured and graceful school of the French medallists, and its effect is produced by more delicate and almost classical methods.”.

Thank You Mistirae- It would be so helpful to see that painting. If possible, let's compare the signatures. Anxiously awaiting your response. - Chris
