There is an artist known as "Burnett" who keeps popping up at my local auction house and the style looks very similar. They are always Parisienne street scenes as yours appears to be. Would you agree with the location? I am attaching a copy of one of mine to compare. Sometimes they are signed and others are left without signatures. Where did you get this painting?

Hi Roger,

This one looks a bit different to me, but there are similarities. I found some links now when searching Burnett that suggests these are generic paintings churned out in China somewhere? Do you know if this is true?

I don't own the painting.. I looked at it and a few others in a small antique store and wanted to do some research before considering possibly purchasing one.

But according to what I found out with your help, it seems it wouldn't be advisable.

The owner wanted $100 or so for this one.

These paintings are everywhere and bunches of them keep coming up at my local auction house in Nottingham UK and they always sell. Some are very large and others quite small but all have the same characteristics. Basically, they are quite attractive paintings and very colourful and in moderation worth hanging in a vacant corner. But after a while they become too predictable. They have obviously been a money spinner over the years.

Has anyone else on this site seen any?
