Hi,
I found this painting at a junk store and am trying to identify it. It looks pretty old with an old frame so I'm hesitant to rip the frame off to get to the signature. The frame covers part of the signature but I can make out possibly an RC and then a last name maybe ending with an L or having a looped letter in the last name. I'm attaching pics, but they're pretty small due to size constraints. Thanks in advance for your time. The signature is in the left hand corner... |

Can you post any larger pictures? These are quite small.

This is my flicker account. I hope you can view the images a little better. Thanks for your help. |

When I examined the people in the painting closer yesterday, they looked to be of African descent. Their hairstyles don't suggest anything prior to the 50s. My guess. One has a high, sideways ponytail and one other person has sideburns and a small beehive thing. (these are just my interpretations of the people) The frame is stamped on the paper on the back "Mack Picture Frames," I did a google search and found absolutely nothing about the picture frame company. Anyways, don't know if those extra details help. It is probably not someone famous I'm sure...
