Please help to identify artist

I have a painting that was given to me as a gift and I'm not sure whom the artist is. There is not any additional information on the back and the artist signature is very hard to read. Please let me know if you know whom the artist of this painting is. Thanks

You have a copy of "Les cygnes" (the swans) of the french artist Joseph Marius Avy 1871-1939 (or 1940). The original would be (I have found no web proof of a note I have in my folders) in the Museum of Roubaix, France.
