can someone help me?

today i purchased a painting by a new york artist by the naame of gerard a. knipscher. it is entitled "caught napping", and features an older gentleman sitting in a chair with another chair sitting next to him with obviously his suitcase on it. it is dated 1971, and has a salmagndi auction tag on the back of the piece. can someone tell me anything about the artist and any ideas what his works might be worth?

Mr. Knipscher is one of my customers in Vegas. He is an older gentleman and so very talented. I have an email address for him if you would like to follow up with him.

I work For your fathers jeweler in Vegas. I met him and as an artist myself, i was so excited to talk to him about art. he seems to be an amazing person. Very talented and wise.
