Default spanish paintings by Bronté... need info!

I have a set of two large raised (rough texture) paintings... a spanish man (conquistador maybe?) And the other is the spanish woman. Both have their face half hidden in the painting ?? And the set goes together. They are beautiful. There is no date but on the lower right corner of the spanish man the signature just says Bronté. I know these paintings are fairly old because they have hung on my friends grandmothers wall for quite a few years. I bought them in my friends garage sale. I am a paint and art idiot but would love to know something.....Anything! Plz help if you can. My email is amb2684@gmail.com I can send a picture of these to you!
