Hello all...
My husband inheirited this beautiful oil painting from an elderly aunt, and it had been stored in the attic for many, many years. We love it, and plan to have it restored and then use it as an inspiration piece in our new home. I am looking forward to seeing the "after" because it does have some beautiful colors in it. If you can't tell by my pictures, it is of a grand room, with a lot of attention being paid to a woman sitting at a table. There are harlequin clowns(?) or maybe dancers(?) entertaining her with dance and instruments. There is a lot of detail in this picture and I could stare at it for hours. The signature is so faded and is barely legible. The best I can tell, it is signed by "X Borden" or "Boudain" or something close to that... We don't really care about the monetary value of it as much as just knowing the name of the piece and the history behind it... I'm hoping someone here can help us... Thanks so much ![]() Last edited by VikDaChik : March 28th, 2008 at 03:49 PM. |
