Please help idetify weird painting
I found this painting at a friends house in Romania, which she bought approx 10 years ago. The only thing she knows about it is that it's about 200 years old. Nothing is written on the back, and it's oil on canvas. Much of the detail is lost due to wear. Any help in identifying it would be apreciated.

Looks like a painting of a Javanese or Balinese shadow puppet or perhaps a character from one of the traditional stories.
