For my art history class paper, I'm gathering other people' opinion!
Papyrus from the Abusir papyri http://http://www.britishmuseum.org/...etpage=22 308 What can be the role of the combination of paintings and writings on papyrus? What can be the role of the grid in the image? or why the Egyptian made the grid between their paintings? What can be the meaning of the paintings? Limestone relief slab from the tomb of Rehotep http://http://www.britishmuseum.org/...etpage=22 309 Do you think that the arrangement of various engraving of objects has a special meaning? Do you think this artwork tells something? If it is, why do you think so? How do you think about the man's body proportion? |

I believe the man's body portions is quite ideal, and the objects surrounding the man represents the articles for daily use. I'm not sure about the arrangement, but it could be certain process for the ritual ceremony.

Talking about papyrus and things Egyptian, here is a photo of a papyrus painting which I obtained in Port Said in 1980. What do you think are the intentons of the artist in this image and can you translate the script? |
