Question Questions for art history

How long would something like a 3 person carving of wood take in the old kingdom of Egypt? What tools do you think they had access to? Do you know what this piece of art is representing? Do you think that this was made from one piece of wood?

Default Interesting questions

I would say that a carving of such detail would have taken weeks if not months. I am not an art expert but I would imagine the tools would be much like the carving tools today but much more primitive in the effectivness and time saving elements. I read in the site you posted that the figures are representing every day activities in order to supply the dead with such necesities such as food and drink. I would imagine with the primitive tools being used that the sculpture utilizes multiple pieces of wood.
