I think the name of the piece is "La Maddelena." Who is the artist and does anyone have other details? Thanks. Mark

I just learned that the painting might be from Annibale Carracci or from someone from his school. But I can't locate any more information than that. Any help here?

Is this a version of the "Penitent Magdalene"? Is she praying, do you suppose?
Are those books at her feet? There are a lot of paintings of the Magdalene reading. I don't know what the iconography of that is, but maybe that might shed light on this scene. |
