A lot of the questions asked here are identification question...
I'd like to post two different paitings, kinda similar in style and technique...Please look at them before reading the rest of my post. Would you identify these 2 paintings as paintings by one and only artist? So yeah, these two different paintings have some similarities and differences. But they could clearly be from the same artist, and from a similar period, no? If they were, everything would be fine. But the problem is, one was painted around 1954 and the other was painted in 2011. One was painted by a significant post-war Canadian artist, Marcelle Ferron, and the other is made by an American contemporary artist, Ron Ehrlich... My point is, I really feel that ''actual art'' is now a pure product of the market and galeries. what are the rules of actual art? Can artist just copy other artist, using a slightly brighter red or darker grey? Can Hirst and Koons produce piece to be sold in the same year for millions dollars. Can artist use bling bling(diamond and gold etc.) in their sculpture to higher the value?? If you have something to say, lets go! |
