Orhan Pamuk on Bellini's Portrait of an Ottaman Sultan
Orhan Pamuk the Turkish novelist has a fine essay in the Guardian about a portrait of the Ottoman Ruler Mehmed II which Gentile Bellini painted back in the Renaissance. This is a must read for those who enjoy one artist's meditations on the work of another.
