There's good news for all those people who love Renior's The Boating Party and can't wait to see it again in its home in Dupont Circle, Washington DC. The painting along with the highpoints of the collection have been on tour for over three years while the Phillips people built a new extension. Now that building is finished and the collection has been rehung. The museum reopens this holiday weekend April 15-16 and will be offering free admission both days.

I had a preview walkthrough of the collection this afternoon and was wowed by the quality of the pieces some of which are fondly familiar and others which I have never seen before. Its a must see for people in the DC area as well for those who will be visiting Washington over the next year.
