Adrian Searle the art critic of the Guardian weighs in today after actually seeing the new Modernism in Design exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Musuem. The show is getting so hyped here in Washington DC because the Washington Post sent their critic Blake Gopnik to review the show and he loved it. (Gopnik does have a good deal. He rarely has to show up to review exhbits in DC but gets to go to London and Italy when there's a big show.) Then the new director of the Cocoran here said that he would bring the show to that venue early next year. After reading Searle's review one wonders if that is such a good idea.
