Default Podcasting in Art Museums II

Here's my list of art museums which are currently podcasting. In addition to the already mentioned MOMA, National Gallery of Great Britian, and Victoria and Albert, I have found a few more since last week. Two of them are here in Washington DC, the Hirshorn and the Freer/Sackler both part of the Smithsonian Institution.

The features offered by the Hirshhorn seems to be by far the most interesting, talks with artists like Janet Cardiff, Ann Hamilton and Jim Hodges and a lecture about the new MOMA by its boss Glen Lowry

Monday Jan. 2 . Lee Siegel who is Slate's art critic has done a podcast tour of the Metropolitan Museum's modern art galleries. Siegel is, what they call in the trade, an "irreverent" type which is to say he's annoying superior. But in this case what he's being annoying superior to are the art history snobs, you just might enjoy it.http://www.slate.com/id/2123266/
Note that this was produced last summer and was advertised as the first of a series. What happened? Did Segal get cold feet?

This site lists additional museums which offer podcasting:

Being new to this concept I'd be interested to hear what you consider the benefits / disadvantages (if any) are of this new medium.

Default podcasting

I think that podcasting is a great idea allowing the mustum/gallery to constantly modify its content, make announcements and have content in various languages
