I saw a painting at the Louvre aprox. 35 years ago, and I cannot remember the name of the painting or its artist. It depicted a family(I think) climbing up a rocky mountainside. In the painting, the man had taken hold of a branch that had just broken, and they were just starting to fall. The faces in the painting were haunting! I'm not sure of the time period, but from what I remember, it could be as old as the Renaissance period. If anyone has any idea of the title or painter, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
