Cool American Art 1850-1950 at Dulwich Gallery

This exhibition opened last week at the Dulwich gallery in London.

Personally I was rather disappointed in it. Though it certainly covered the time period the fact that there was only one painting by each artist and that in some cases they were nowhere near the best painting paintings made it to me a disappointment. No Rothko or Barnett, only one Winslow Homer, a very poor Hopper and and INMHO a bad O'Keefe plus some other poor paintings.

There were some really good paintings like the Sargeant and the Franz Kline.

Perhaps as it was all works from one gallery, the Addison Gallery in Andover, Miss. I should not be to critical.
