Hello,
this is my first post, so apologies if this is in the wrong section. I would like to create a discussion with people on here that is interested in anthropomorphic art. Anthropomorphic art? Do you love it, hate it? why/ why not? It seems to be used heavily everywhere one goes. Im mainly thinking about the commercial world, advertising's created to manipulate people into buying products. I was wondering, is this same method used in the art world? Is anthropomorphic art actually bad? Is it just a method used to be manipulative? is it narcissistic, negative? If you have any thoughts and opinions on this or on anthropomorphism and art in general then please feel free to comment. Thank you. |

What are you defining as anthropomorphic art? I tried putting it into Google Images and almost everything that came up was humanoid pictures of animals (also a few fruits and vegetables).

basically im looking at the relationship between humans and objects, how we interact and associate with the objects that we surround ourselves in. Every object that we interact with, we seem to anthropomorphize in one way of another.
A couple of artists that i am looking at are harrison and wood, fischli and weiss. |
