Help! I can't figure out who made this!

My boyfriend recently got a new score with this etching/drawing on it. He asked me who the artist was since the book didn't tell him. I have been racking my brain forever about it. I know its an image of the Damned. Does anyone recognize this image? I uploaded an image. Its the cover of Dover Publications Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem.

I'm pretty sure that would be the French illustrater Gustave Doré. Fantastic artist, perhaps the best illustrator of his time (mid 19th century).

You are right John. The last judgment from the illustrations Doré made for the Bible.
