One of the great things that internet radio makes possible are opportunties to listen to the BBC Radio which its unparalled panoply of dramas, lectures, and "intelligent" discussion program. One of my favorite dramatic programs is the "Book of the Week". Next week there will be a dramatization of the new book about the eight weeks when Paul Gauguin went to live with Vincent Van Gogh in the South of France. Martin Gayford the art critic for the Telegraph wrote the new book on which the radio play is based. You will be able to listen a new episode each day beginning Monday April 7 through April 11. The program can be listened to for a week then it disappears.
By Martin Gayford, read by Jamie Glover. In October 1888, Paul Gauguin arrived in the town of Arles in the South of France. His arrival at The Yellow House was greeted with delight by his host Vincent van Gogh. Eight weeks of the most celebrated cohabitation in art history were to follow. Abridged and produced by Jill Waters. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/bookoftheweek/pip/wgedh/ |
