Hello everyone,
We came across a painting in my Nana's House after she died of a Jack Russell Terrier (we think it might be a Jack Russell) eating a bone (??). It is an oil on canvas picture and the framing is gold guilted. On the back it says (in very faint writing) Winsor and Newton, Rathbone Place, London. I have attached a few pics of it and if anyone can help us identify who might have painted it and also what sort of era it is from we would be very grateful. Thankyou in advance, Nikki |

Hi, your painting is very nice and very very old. I would guess it 18850 to 1870..Looks like there might be a signature in the lower right corner. Reminds me of Edmond Osthaus. If that was the case your painting would be work 12,000 to 14,000 USD.
Good luck. |
