I deeply regret having given away a reproduction I once owned and would love to replace it. I do not remember the name of the artist. The scene of the painting was a Victorian rose garden, in the foreground a wheelbarrow in which stands a beautifully dressed little girl of about three years. She's apparently gotten a thorn in her finger. An older man wearing a white gardening apron is tenderly trying to remove the thorn. I can't imagine what possessed me to have given it to charity, as it stood (to me, at least) as a metaphor for God removing a hurt. If anyone knows the artist, I'd be so grateful for a tip.
Thanks, Annie. |

The name of the painting is THE THORN by James Hayllar , the Edwardian / Victorian artist. Strangely enough I actually purchased a lovely framed print just today, I fell in love with it. I was searching the internet for the details and I came across your query. Anyway, I am pleased to tell you. Prissy.
