ARTstor, the digital library of art images for research and scholarship has just released the Eugene James Martin collection. Martin now joins Mark Rothko, Albers, Roy Lichtenstein and Elizabeth Peyton as separate contemporary artist collections. 200 images are included in the collection.

Thanks for sharing ArtStore. Unfortunately, one must be a member of a subscribing institution in order to access the images.
Here is a link that shows a body of work by Eugene James Martin. I wish the images were larger. http://morayeel.louisiana.edu/ejMART...IN-artist.html Martin presented a variety of art styles - from drawings reminiscent to the Renaissance masters to abstract expressionism - to surreal - and modern cubism. More on Martin: Nice biography on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_J._Martin I am certain this page is maintained by Martin's estate (although source is not listed). I believe information can be trusted to be accurate. NEO Images - selected works (nice size images) http://www.neoimages.net/artistportfolio.aspx?pid=1664 Nice collection of images on Artnet: http://www.artnet.com/awc/eugene-j-martin.html images courtesy of estate of E J Martin. This site also has some larger images available: http://afonline.artistsspace.org/vie...t.php?aid=3883 I have been meaning to add links to Eugene James Martin to my page on African American artists. Now I have done the work (smile) and simply have to create the entry. Thanks for the reminder. Judy Decker |

Thank you, Judy, for providing links to additional sites that show images of the art by my late husband, Eugene Martin. The info written in the links can be trusted, as I was the one to add the information! Videoclips pertaining to his art can also be viewed at youtube.com/nemastoma.
Thanks again, Suzanne. |
