Default Rosa Bonheur 1880 Portrait

My wife and I have a portrait of an individual horse painting by Rosa Bonheur. The picture is signed and dated 1880. We believe this pencil portrait is the original since it has been in our care since 1950. It was found in a house that was built between 1870 - 1900 that was purchased by our parents in Vincennes. I contacted John Malyon at Art Cyclopedia and he liked thte portrait a lot and for me to use artconversation to help find out more about this protrait. I am new at this artconversation stuff so if anyone can help me please contact me via this process or my e-mail at thombass1@cebridge.net. Mr. Malyon also advised me to upload a digital picture of the painting and i will soon, when i learn how. Any help is appricated.

Here is a picture of the painting taken from the fax I was sent. It'll have to do until a better picture is uploaded. I suggested posting it because the painting seemed vaguely familiar and I thought someone might recognize the horse.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is titled - A Norman Stallion.

I have this same picture that was passed down through my family. My grand mother passed it on to me said it hung in my Great Grandmother's home in Denver, CO in the early 1900's. That's all I know about it. Don't know if its an original, a copy, or if its of material value. I love it just knowing it hung in my Great Grandmother's home.
