I am looking for a painting of a woman in a grey/blue cloak. I believe she is holding something, and is looking over her shoulder. Maybe from the 1700-1800 time period. Any suggestions or information would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time. |

Your question is very vague. You haven't given us much to go on - if you can provide a photo of the work, perhaps we can better help you. Lots of women are painted in grey/blue cloaks and are looking over their shoulders.
Two that spring to mind are both Pre-Raph works: Prosperine by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1877) has Prosperine in a blue/grey garment that could look like a cloak and she is holding a pomegranate close to her neck. April Love by Arthur Hughes 1855 -the subject is wearing blue and looking over her shoulder; the blue in April Love is very vibrant however and she's also wearing a shawl. She has a hand raised and might appear to be holding the shawl close to her neck also. Many of the Pre-Raph works have that sort of wistful, melancholy, "looking over the shoulder" look to them....Good Luck. |
