Hi, I'm an artist from down under in Australia who has been at the drawing boards for years. I was educated at the National Art School East Sydney, having been born in Oz, but I'm a Brit. cit. by heritage.After a while as a freelance artist I drifted into the high schools to earn a better crust. I really had to earn that. Later I went into the study of arts at uni. which took up a bit of time but made a better artist of me. Since then I've returned to being a free freelancer. I'm having another exhibition in Newcastle in June of this year. I have contacts with galleries in New York, (links available), but haven't been able to send work there yet. However, I am selling here in Oz.
I was very influenced by the art of Picasso, Mattise and some others like Bacon and the Australian artist Brett Whitely. That shows in my early works. As yet, I don't have recent works on the web, but much of what I do now
goes by the same themes as before. Like the mentioned masters I work in elements of design. I compose in those. As I compose original music, there are similarities of method. My site is on:--www.fredherbert.com
