there is an app on facebook called sketchapp.net that does conversions for free and yes they are NORMAL sized NOT thumb nails, and yes they look good and YES they are free.

Use Amazifier, which is a nice and simple photo editor.

Its good for 99% of the photo editing I do...

Yes it does seem to be free. Not bad, but I'd like it better if it was more customizable. The examples I turned into a drawing and a painting didn't really turn out that well.

It has variety of photo effects including pencil vs camera effect, pencil sketch, lens flare (this one you must try), grunge effect.
