No joke. The last few days I have checked tens of listings for books with that "Look Inside" feature, and it has been eliminated for every one. This is the thing that lets surfers view high-res scans of a selection of pages from a book. I really enjoyed linking to art books with this feature, because you would often stumble upon good art scans that were quite large -- as tall as the viewable area in my browser (approximately 900 pixels).
If anyone has heard about this or can confirm that this is a permanent change, I'd be interested in hearing anything. The good news is that "Search Inside" books, the ones that have high-res scans combined with full-text searching, are unaffected. |

Hey, any idea how an author/publisher can make it so their book has this feature?

The "look inside" and "search inside" features are not available for all books. When you look at the main page for a book the links, if they exist, would appear directly above and/or below the picture of the book cover.

P.S. It's available on Amazon.com, but possibly not on all the country-specific Amazon sites.
