I recently inherited 3 pictures. I hesitate to call them paintings as I can't really tell what the medium is. The pictures are on a tan paper with what appears to be dark black ink or paint. They are all very old in appearance and are made up of squiggles or scribbles and depict women in different poses. One is a woman in a fur hat and fur trimmed coat looking up at a tall tree. Another is a woman and man kissing who's bodies form a wedding ring surrounded with cherubs. The third is three women in long vintage gowns, one playing a harp, one doing artwork and one who appears to be an angel, nursing a baby. I can't locate a signature on any of them, and have even taken one apart to look on the back. There does seem to be an area on each one that could possibly be a hidden signature, but I really can't be sure. If anyone has any ideas I'd love your imput. Thanks!

If you register a user id then you can upload a photograph, which would help tremendously. It's doubtful anyone will recognize the artist, unless the pictures are simple reproductions, but you might get some useful comments.
Once you are signed in, click "Post Reply" below left and use the paperclip icon to upload an attachment. Make sure the images are less than about 500K in size; if you size the images to 800x600 or so, they should be plenty small enough to upload. |
