You could try cropping the photos so that each image is all painting(not the whole painting obviously) and then do a Google reverse image on those photos. To do that go to Google, then images and then click on the camera icon in the search box.

No they did not mention any museum, that painting was located at a War camp in serbia ( Krajina ).

It's showing an islamic flag of the ottoman empire and a Slavic, perhaps serbian war flag.

Google has a "reverse lookup" image search feature where you upload an image and Google brings up images from its database that are as close as possible. Sometimes it works amazingly, sometimes it doesn't come up with anything very close. Just go to the Google Images page and click the little camera icon inside the search box.

But in order to use that search tool, you'd really need to use a photo editing program to crop and resize the different pieces of the tableau so that they fit together as one image. I'm not sure I'd go to that trouble myself, but it has a chance of working.

Google reverse image lookup might have the painting in it but if you put the photos as they it won't come up with it because it is looking for the similarities in the painting and the similarities of the people standing in front of it to it's image and it won't match. If you crop your photo so the person isn't in it, even though it will only show part of the painting google might recognize the similarity of that part to image it has stored.

I tried cropping a few of the pieces but no joy in either TinEye or Google. The reason I thought the Crusades is due to the flag beside the Ottoman flag.

This has become quite a mystery .. not even my history teacher at highschool knows about this picture.

Also i tryied the google image, and it did not really work it showed many other pictures but no paintings.

Just pictures with the same colour and "light"

Im very grateful for all your responses, than you so much.

I shall continue my search of this painting.

Best Regards,

From what little I know of Serbian history, they had a long history of battle against and occupation by the Turks. A look at Wikipedia suggests that this is most likely a representation of the Battle of Kosovo in 1389.

I have contacted the founder of 'Work in Progress' a production company in Belgrade, she has kindly responded stating she will try to find out and help.
