In a room with one window, a woman is sitting (wearing only her lingerie)on the unmade bed smoking a cigarette.Behind the woman there is a lit lamp At the back of the room there is a man in a suit whose face we cannot see, he is levitating, drowning as if the ceiling was the surface of water. I saw it in the cover of a book (translated in greek), i dont think it is a greek artist though.

Default two pieces of art without an artist name

I have two pieces of art work without an artist name. Pictures of two small children. A boy and a girl.

The boy has brown curly hair with brown eyes. He looks Italian or Spanish desent. He's wearing clothing of rose sleves, with a yellow and blueish tone shirt or scarf. It appears that he is sitting on a couch with his left arm on the back of the couch, with some type of beige vase of scupture in the background.

The girl has brownish-blonde hair in color, with blue eyes. She appear to be of caucasion descent. She is wearing a white dress with ruffles around the collar and at the end of the sleeve, with a blue sash at the waist. She is holding a white weaved basket with a handle filled with cherries. She is also holding up in the air two cherries attached to a stem and a single leaf.

Good afternoon,

I am trying to track down a painting that was in the window of a gallery in Northampton, UK, a couple of years ago. It is of a robed/shrouded figure with his arms around the figure of a nude woman who you can see from the back. It is painted against some kind of desert backdrop and I believe the robed figure has his head resting on the woman's shoulder.

If anyone can pin down what this painting is or even who it is by, I would very much appreciate it!

Default a bit difficult

I got to this thread all the way from across the globe - hopping it will help me find out for my mother the name of the artist for a specific artifact. It is a painting that tells the story of expulsion from heaven. It's a narrow painting that starts with a small Jesus on the top, strange butterflies over the sky below a rock in middle, goes down to the snake offering the apple to Adam and Eve, and finish with some knid of angel with a sword and adam and eve are covernd with the fig leaf. Important ! it's not the "expulsion from heaven" by Charles-Joseph Natoire‏.

Any help will do name of artist and painting will be great. Pardon my English I'm not from the states.

thank you

Default Help please

I am trying to find a painting that is my brothers favorite he has ever seen, unfortunately he doesn't know the name of it all I have is a description.

He describes it as a man sitting on a stone bench of sorts with an angel behind him partially wrapping her wings around him. I wish I had more of a description, but I don't. He finally got out of base housing and has a place of his own, and I would very much like to find a frame a copy of this piece as a housewarming gift.

I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Default 2 empty chairs and a poem

Trying to locate a painting done in greenwich in 80s, sponsored in Southern Living. Two empty chairs on a porch and a poem running along the bottom. As I remember it was done in pencil. Anyone know this piece or the author?

Default I even know the names... I think

I recently returned from Thailand where I bought a local artists copy of a piece that I know he got from a postcard. There were several art pieces clearly done by the same artist. These pieces are paneled pieces with names like "Golden Wishes V," "Special Night," and "Metallic Light".

The Thai artist was painting from a set of postcards he had that were clearly of a museum piece. I made sure to copy down the names because I wanted to learn more about the artist but a thorough Google search as well as searches in art directories turned up nothing. Below is a a picture of the piece.

I was able to find a bit more information on the above painting. It seems that this artist's work is commonly copied in asia by artists looking to sell their copies of it in small shops or online. I was able to find a few other paintings by the same artist here and was even able to find something that looked like a signature here.

As far as I can tell the artist might be Kei Len or Kie Len as I've found very similar work here that attribute these particular works to her, but a search through her work yields nothing and google is once again unhelpful.

I am wondering if this website is only showing what is for sale from her and not all of her works.... Is anyone familiar with this artist that could help out?

I have two:

1) I don't know if its a painting, but I have an art poster in my room, probably from sometime in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. It's a drawing of a floating woman with black flowing hair caressing the floating head of a man with snake-like hair. The rest of the man's body appears to be dripping into the water below them. The water has one flower in it. The sky has a bunch of scale-looking circles.

2) It's a painting we bought at an art auction. It's a painting of a fairy girl with red hair and elf ears sitting on a mushroom and getting her hair cut by a salamander or a newt that is very large, and wearing glasses. The painting is called "Summer Haircut" and the artists name is written at the bottom but it is impossible to make out what it is.

Any help?

Default trying to find artist of oil painting

I am trying to find the artist of a oil painting signed Christin. I inherited it from a antique collector who had great taste. It looks to be very old landscape with two cottages, a creek, and a bridge. The frame is a gold Holland frame with a number 1702-w.
