Please help me identify a painting- I found a print of it in a book while doing research for a high school term paper (10 years ago, yikes!) on Tennyson. It very much brings to mind JW Waterhouse but is not one of his paintings (not that I can find, anyway).
Its a night scene of a woman in a light colored gown (maybe white) reclining atop a stone wall, or maybe in the window of a stone wall. She's looking out into the distance, at the stars, waiting for someone. Its very Romantic style. It was used as the illustration for a poem, which I'm also dying to find. It was a love poem, and I swear I remember Romeo and Juliet mentioned, though I'm certain it was not actually Romeo and Juliet. I loved to painting and poem both so much that I paid for a photocopy to keep for myself and pinned it to my bedroom wall. Now I've lost the copy and can't remember the details. Please help!! |

I came across a few that was close to your explanation of "Tennyson." Type in his name and "illustration pictures" on the google search engine. You might just find it.
