Help identifying a painting/artist

I've been searching all over trying to find the name of this painting and/or the artist who painted it. I'm not even really sure what genre this would be considered... I was thinking it was abstract expressionist. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, I saw the paintings when I was watching the HBO show Entourage. There are two of them hung next to each other on Ari's office wall. I was able to take a screenshot of it but it is a little blurry.. the picture is here: http://i37.tinypic.com/xnbt47.jpg Thanks for ANY information you can give me about it.

The style is Abstract Expressionist (similar to Mark Rothko), or maybe just abstract. I'm fairly sure Rothko didn't do these, but I can't suggest who the actual artist is. Possibly just a set designer whipping up something that could pass for expensive modern art.

What is the name of the painting in Vince's living room that is a beach landscape? It sits on a table, leaning against the wall between two wood-based lamps.
