Ye gods. The last name "Clark" popped out at me while I was looking at the signature, but then I lost it again.

They do seem to be not just the same artworks but the exact same photographs.

Now that I look at the first work (above) more closely, I see a number in the lower left that would indicate it's a print. "9/10", it looks like.

Right on mp you nailed it with the Kijiji ad..same print 9/10...and no way would I pay 2500.00. Wonder how many prints are numbered 9/10.

Warm Regards,
A cynic at times...

Thanks, Eirene. Ironically, Morley is my middle name, but I had no luck in reading that part of the sig.

Well there is an artist (female, as it turns out) named Morley Clark living in California. I found one small example of her work online. It's probably the same artist, but this work is pretty dissimilar so maybe there's room for doubt.

Scroll down about halfway: http://www.anderson.ucla.edu/x6978.xml

Thanks John for your help. Not easy figuring out what is what in the art world. I brought this up to a co-worker and he has 8 Group of 7 paintings. Blew me away. Good retirement for him the day he decides to sell.
