Default Marc Bellaire

Marc Bellaire was a California potter born in 1925 and died 1994. He was most famous for Balinese and/or Hawaiian type figures on his ceramics. I have what appears to be an original pen and ink drawing of a woman sitting holding an infant with a toddler standing behind her looking on. It is signed Marc Bellaire in what appears to be the artist's handwriting. On the internet, I can find nothing about him doing any paper art. Does anyone know anything about this? I have had this piece of art for about 15 years and it came from my mother, who lived in California during the 1940s.

Thanks Eirene. I am obviously internet challenged. I am going to post a photo of this work in the next couple of days. It is completely different from what I saw on the auction sites. I am not interested in selling it, but wanted to know if there are comparable works out there. Again, thank s for your reply.

I know of several Marc Bellaire paintings but none as you describe. I have a small brochure of a showing of his artwork at the Norfolk Museum of Art and Sciences dated September 2-25, 1966. It list paintings of mixed media-(acrylic, oil, gold leaf, and silver leaf), ceramic paintings, leather paintings, and oils. I am aware that he also did water colors .

Thanks. I have taken a picture of the work and the signature and will try to post it just so folks can see what I'm talking about. If I get this done, please let me know if the picture looks familiar. Thanks again.

OK, so I posted in the quick reply section, and I suppose that was wrong. Anyway, I have taken a picture of the work I have along with the signature. If I can find it in me to learn how to post it, I will. I hope you will let me know if you recognize it. Thanks a bunch.
