Help me Identify this, Painting or sculpting ?

Hi,
I found this picture on the net and i would like some information about, who created this, is it a real sculpture or a effect with a photo software ?

I consulted with my daughter, who is a fairly adept digital artist, but she's not sure if it's a real sculpture or a digital construction. If you magnify the image, you can see a fairly clear sawtooth line along the front of the head where the horse was cut out of the background, so this isn't a raw image anyways.

BTW, I'm not sure if you're are of this, but the figures are taken from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The main part is from the frieze by Francois Rude called "La Marseillaise", and the figure directly below the eye appears to be taken from another sculpture on the Arc de Triomphe.
