Desperate help needed to identify painting..

This oil painting was bought by my late parents in the early 1980's..

Would really like to know who painted it and/or what it was called, eternally grateful for any help

You might get lucky and someone will recognize it if it's a well-known painting. I couldn't venture any guesses, though.
