Default Jules-Alexis Muenier The First Piano Lesson

I have what appears to be a very old painting by Muenier. How do I go about finding out what it is worth? If it is real? It looks like I can see brush strokes through the glass. I see no signature at all. Any help is apreciated. Thank you, BMK1962

You've definitely got the right painting. Assuming it's an oil painting, my personal working assumption would be that it's just a copy by someone other than Meunier with nominal value (say, a couple of hundred dollars).

But I am no expert. You'd have to show it in person to an art dealer or expert to get a serious opinion as to when and by whom it may have been painted.

John, Thank you for your help. I will see if I can find an expert that is local. Thanks again, Brian
