Default vir ginia

Hello all,
I have a very large oil on canvas of the Z bar T ranch, also knbown as the Pitchfork Ranch in Wyoming. It was probably painted in the 1930's. It is of a bunch of cowboys branding cattle. It is in the Benton style but the signature in the lower right is vir ginia. The eyes in vir ginia are not dotted, but slashed as in the Spanish vernacular. I have been reasearching this painting for about ten years. Many people can even identify the exact spot in Matetsee, Wyoming this was done. This is a very masculine painting so it is difficult to believe a lady would have done this. Not be derogatory but just trying to find anything I can. Thank you.
