Default A. Le Prince

I have a watercolor with an embossed stamp in the corner.
It says A. Le Prince / Editeurs Art / Paris (and a street address, 20 Rue something...) The only thing close to this name I can find is Louis Le Prince (who was a Photographer primarily, but was involved in paintings also)
Does anyone know anything that would help me? The watercolor is signed also, but the signature is hard to read. It looks like E. Panis or pallis maybe.
Thank you! BTW, I really enjoy this site, glad I found it!

A. Le Prince is an art publisher in Paris.

Default A Le Prince

Thank you! Do you know if they are still publishing or where I might find a collection of what they published? The Lithograph I have is not war related, but rather a pleasant scene of a bridge / river and house in the background.

Sorry...I could only find a few references and all were the war poster. They could possible have been taken over by a larger publishing firm or had a name change.

Perhaps someone in France would have some info. ;-)

Thank you again. I did find some artists that had works published by A. Le Prince and one of them was Edmund Thomas Parris, which would maybe explain the confusing signature on the print I have. It looks like "E. Pallis". The letters are all clear except the 2 "ll" 's which could be lower case "r". The piece I have could be a print from an engraving (which Edmund Parris seemed to do a lot of). I think at this point I will have to pay someone to try and identify it. I've had this for 40 years now and I am now excited to maybe get to the bottom of the mystery! However it turns out, I am not so concerned with value, but with knowing it's history. BTW, I found this behind another print I bought when I had it rematted and framed.
