Can anyone point me in the right direction to identify the artist? This is part of a painting from a famous cardiff bay pub. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Oops can't find how to upload the photos! Anyone want to advise?? Last edited by Cardiff man : January 11th, 2012 at 01:18 PM. |

I can't seem to upload them through the control panel, perhaps the site does not support this function through iPad

I don't know about that. Do you see the paperclip icon? When you click on the paperclip can you select a file to upload? (Be sure to click "upload" once the file is selected.) Are you getting an error message of any kind?

I don't believe we would be able to identify this as it is in all probability a one of a kind portrait. Perhaps it is one of the original owners of the pub or some notable person. Has the back been checked to see if there is some id there. Signature under frame?

This is part of a painting about 20ft long x 3ft high & has scenes of cardiff docks along with 4/5 people included in it. It was removed from the pub in several pieces before the pub was turned into offices! It was probably commissioned as a on off. We just wondered if anyone recognised the style or the faces?
Thanks anyway. |

From a historical viewpoint it would be very interesting to find out. I wonder if there are any elderly historians in the area that might have some information for you?
