I have a painting that was given to my wife some years back, and I am trying to find the artist name, not an appraisal.
The painting is of people, looks to me as if around the late 1700's to early 1800's. They are sitting around a dinner table dressed formally for the period. Two men are giving a toast. The thing that 'sticks' out are that the women have on pearls and earrings that seem to almost fluresent, as is the glassware on the chandalier, very bright. Any help would greatly appriciated. Hmm, good guess. I should mention that the painting you posted was The Toast, by Richard Jack (1866-1952).
