Help needed identifying Italian artist

Hello,

I would appreciate any help to identify the signature on the attached which, according to the family story, was painted by an Italian prisoner of war in Ethiopia, about 1940.

Beviot?

Unfortunately, the only "Beviot" I can find in Google is a musician, and the references appear to be typographical errors for the correct name which is "Beriot". Also, the name isn't very Italian. But that's what it looks like to me.

Thanks for looking. I think Beriot, but like you say doesn't bring up anything useful in Google.
