Greetings!
I found a beautiful print at a consignment shop last week and am on a mission to find out more about the artist. With the use of a magnifying glass I was able to read the artist's name: Paul Kane. It is not, however, the Paul Kane that sketched and painted North American Indians. I found, on the Getty Museum site, another Paul Kane - an American artist that was born 1939 and, apparently, is still alive. I'd love to find out more about him but searches only pull up the Canadian Paul Kane. NO searches reveal any more of this artist's work and I'd really enjoy seeing more. The painting is quite beautiful, I believe it is of Buddha sitting on a bench with one leg up on the bench, the other on the ground.. There is what appears to be a Ming Dynasty vase at his feet to the left, as well as a golden Mandala Thangka to his right. (been doing a lot of research!). The background depicts a battle taking place - very very ghost-like. I get the feeling Buddha is meditating on peace. I'd really like to know the name of the painting and the 'story' behind it. If the description isn't enough I'll try to take a picture and post it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Namaste, Judith |

I figured out how to upload pics on this computer...yaay! However, I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to reduce the size so that it can be allowed here. If you'd like to see it please email me at moondancer961@yahoo.com and I will send it that way.
Thank! Judith |
