I tried playing with the signature in my photo editor, but I can't make that signature even remotely legible. The painting doesn't show up in Google's reverse image search, so I don't know what else to try.

Hello John,
Thank you again for all your help. You truly are very knowledgable in this area.I tried to clear up the signature as much as posible, hopefully it helped. |

If I squint real hard and hold my breath I can get "Miller" or maybe "Millar" out of that. That's far from certain, though.
