Hans Comiotto-Looking for information
Hello All! I am looking for information and value of paintings by the artist Hans Comiotto. A friend owns one of his works that he acquired in the mid 1950's. The painting is of three tulips in a vase and is framed in black walnut. I have been "comissioned" to do the research on this artist. I have found only limited biographical info. and do know that Comiotto was a friend and student of Augusto Giacometti and that he died in 1972 in Germany. He painted mostly landscapes and florals. Any other information would be greatly appreciated!

Hello
I would like to find out more about this artist too as I have come by 2 prints both florals and not very exciting in my view. The previous owners must really have liked this artist as the prints have been framed professionally. shall |

Hans Comiotto
An exhibit of his paintings is taking place right now each week-end until the end of september in Glaris, Switzerland.
His son, who organized this exhibition, and who is a longtime friend of mine, died today sept 11. I will be glad to give you more information later, as I have other priorities to take care of just now. JC Laederach jlaederach@aol.com |

I also am curious about this artist. About 20 years ago in purchased two Art Deco frames by H. Comiotto at an antique store in Dania, Fla. I have often wondered about the artist even though I primarily bought them for the Art Deco Frames. One is of three tulips and the other appears to be geraniums. Could you let me know if any info is found? lynda
