Default Kid Kosalwat

I have several paintings by Prof Kid that my husband and I purchased while living in Thailand. We had Prof Kid over for lunch and he personally signed all our paintings.

Prof Kid was born Dec 21, 1917 at Srisaket Province, Northeast Thailand. His father was a merchant. Prof Kid had five children. He went to Bangkok in 1936 where he studied at Silpakorn University for 4 years and then studied 1 year at Poh Chang College of Arts and Crafts. At one time he was president of Thai Fine Arts Association and an art instructor at Poh Chang College of Arts and Crafts in Bangkok, Thailand. Hope this helps you on his history.

I am interestd in possibly selling some of my paintings having downsized in my living spaces but not sure how to go about selling them. If you know how I would do this please let me know. jancarjanet@sbcglobal.net

Default re kid kosalwat paintings

Hi folks

How did Kid sign his paintings? I have an abstract oil which I purchased in 1969 from a gallery in a Bangkok international hotel which simply carries the name Kid.

Default Kid Kosalwat

I have "Wat Arun" (24" by 36" Oil) by Kid purchased at the Raja Gallery, Gaysorn, Bangkok in 1967 Signature is "Kid" followed by what appears to be a date (1966) in the lower right hand corner. The painting has been hanging in my various homes for the past 42 years. I am intersted in any additional inforation on the artist that can be provided. I Also have a short biography from the galery if there is any interest.

Default Kid Kosalwat

I have a bio of Kosalwat, that was given to me when I purchased a painting of his at the Raja Gallery, on Gaysorn in Bangkok in 1965. I would be willing to e-mail a copy.

I am interested in the current price range of his paintings.

My painting is signed. It is an oil painting, 2 feet by 3 feet, of the Wat of the Emerald Buddha.

I am interested in the current price range of his painting.

I am the original poster of this thread and i would be very interested in seeing that bio.my email is amyb582@gmail.com. My advice is to go on the major auction house web sites and they will give you idea. i just recently heard back from them and they recommended a reserve of 4,000 us dollars in one of their auctions in bangkok for my painting.

Default Kis Kosolawat

I have two watercolours done by this artist bought an exhibition in Bangkok during the early 1980's. Both are signed with a leaflet on the back depicting a biography of the artist.

Searching th net I see his oil paints are fetching in the region of 5000 to 8000 USD but have not seen any values for his watercolours. Hope this helps!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm collecting thai paintings and accidentally found your conversation about Prof.Kid on artconversation.com.

You mentioned you had his works. Have you still got paintings of thai artists that you would like to sell?.

I know it is very late to ask as your conversation posted 2 years ago but I would like to try. I'm not seller, just collector.

Best regards.
