I have a painting also signed DuBois as well that I purchased from an Antique gallery when they were closing down the store. It has a little girl walking with her mother and they are dressed in Victorian attire. They are walking down to a lake with a sailboat and cottage in the background. The painting is in pastels and it is an oil painting with a wood frame that looks to be it's original. It also has what look to be a sticker from where it was first sold in a gallery. Does anyone know anything about this artist?

I have a old oil painting with two females walking to a lake with a sailboat no cottage. Very soft and pleasing pastels. Lots of flowers (muted) two elegent trees, on shore, lots in the background, beautiful sky with lots of expression.
I would love to know this painters history. Any suggestions? |

I, too, have what appears to be an original oil painting by DuBois of a young women standing by a lake in Victorian attire with a sailboat in the background. The colors of the painting are soft blues/lavenders and the painting may have been purchased at Masters Art in Moreno Valley, CA.
Did you ever find out anything about the artist? |

I too have an oil painting signed by Du Bois and from the frame it appears 1930s or 40s. It appears to be the same artist as the previous post and "Du Bois" is signed the same. How do I attatch a photo to this post?

I bought a DuBois form and antique shop in the 1980's. It had the original information on the back of the painting but it fell off over the years and I hate that I lost it. My painting was originally purchased at the Davidsons Dept Store antique gallery in avondale in Atl Ga as told to me by its owners. They gave me a good deal on it and I have loved the painting for years. It is also a peaceful country scene. But I have not been able to find any info on the artist..... has anyone been successful in knowing the artist first name or any info at all???

I have a small painting of a landscape with a rainbow. The seller only knew that it was from the 1940's.

Today, I purchased a large original painting signed by Dubois. There is a mother and daughter walking along a pathway that leads down to a lake or perhaps a river. The Mother is holding an umbrella and dressed in Victorian clothes. The daughter is also dressed in Victorian clothes. There are two large colorful trees in the foregound, and six smaller trees in the background. There are also tons of flowers. Also, beyond the lake is a mountain range. I do know anything about the artist, but would like to find out more information.

I have a painting by DuBois also that was found in a yard sale and given to us. This painter must have been popular as it seems the paintings are found in different parts of the country. Does anyone have any idea of the value of any of these?jimmypowell264@cox.net

Everyone seems to have the same artist. I,too, have a painting of a blonde girl in Victorian dress & hat watching boats.muted pastel, seems to be in orginal frame. saw 2 in smoky mountains with same signature as mine. they were both fall landscapes. I saw XSTARBUCKX's painting and mine has same subject matter & signature. very curious.
